Clip creation

A Clip is a block that holds your texts, codes, paras, letters, contents and many more in simple text format. A clip can be created in many ways. But before creating any clip, a Group > Title must be selected under which the Clips will be populated. That’s why a Group and a Title must be created or existed before creating any Clip.

The different Clip creation processes are as follows::

1. Direct process (by clicking on AddClip button)
  • When a Title under any Group is selected, a button named Add Clip will appear in quick toolbar.
  • Clicking on that button, a textbox will appear where you can write your content or paste any copied text.
  • Then you have to give a suitable name of that clip using upto 50 characters but it is not mandatory. If you do not give a name, it will take first 50 characters from the body of the clip as its name.
  • Now click on Save button or press F5 to create a new Clip.
  • The newly created Clip will appear in the HelloClips Clips list instantly.

2. Background process (select text anywhere and press Ctrl+\ )
  • First you must be under a Group>Title where the Clip will be generated.
  • Select text in any application you want to save as a clip. It is not necessary to be in the HelloClips window. This process will execute even when HelloClips is running in the background.
  • Now press Ctrl+\ . The Add Clip textbox will appear. Click the Paste and Save button. The selected text will be pasted in the textbox.
  • Click on Yes to save the result.

3. Background process (select text anywhere and press Ctrl+Insert )
  • First you must be under a Group>Title where the Clip will be generated.
  • Select text in any application you want to save as a clip. It is not necessary to be in the HelloClips window. This process will execute even when HelloClips is running in the background.
  • Now press Ctrl+Insert . The selected text will be directly saved as a new Clip. No Add Clip window will appear here.

4. Import from .txt file and Excel file
